Bag Skate’s strength and conditioning program is built on four foundational pillars: Strength, Power, Speed/Agility, and Endurance. Tailored specifically for hockey players, our program enhances the physical qualities essential for the sport by focusing on off-ice conditioning that translates directly to on-ice performance. Through targeted training, players develop explosive power for quick skating, cardiorespiratory endurance for longer shifts, and the strength needed for intense physical play.

Our Strength pillar emphasizes total body strength and power with exercises like squats, deadlifts, and Olympic lifts to build explosive force for skating and shooting. Strength training creates not only a more powerful player but also a more resilient one with greater longevity in the game. A strong core is essential for balance, stability, and generating power, with core exercises like planks and rotational movements providing a solid foundation for overall performance.

Our Power pillar is designed to build explosive strength, speed, and agility essential for peak performance on the ice. Through targeted exercises like plyometrics, resistance training, and core stability work, players develop the power needed for quick acceleration, powerful shots, and dynamic movements that translate directly into game-day performance.

Our Speed and Agility pillar is designed to enhance quickness and directional control, key to effective hockey performance. Through focused plyometrics, sprinting, and agility drills, players improve their reaction time and movement efficiency, translating directly to faster skating speed and sharper on-ice responsiveness.

Our Endurance pillar enhances cardiovascular fitness and stamina, enabling players to sustain high-intensity effort throughout games and recover quickly between shifts. The program includes interval training, circuit workouts, and sport-specific conditioning drills to build the resilience needed for consistent performance on the ice.
